Southridge Animal Hospital is looking to welcome an experienced or licensed Veterinary Technician to our fantastic team.

As an experienced or credentialed veterinary technician, you are already familiar with the responsibilities and skills required to be a successful veterinary professional. Some of the key qualifications we are looking for include:
Communicating with clients:
Educate and advocate for patient care while attending to client concerns regarding their pet
Negotiate financial discussions while maintaining composure and empathy
Medical record keeping
Succinctly document patient history and treatments as well as conversations with clients
Interacting with patients using low-stress engagement and restraint
Knowledge of Fear Free handling a plus
Assisting Veterinarians within the scope of practice:
Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
Collect and prepare patient samples, interpret routine diagnostics
Administer medications and treatments
Calculate, fill and log medications as prescribed
Document patients’ vitals and observe changes in patient condition
Induce, monitor and maintain anesthesia and sedated procedures
Assist in surgical and dental procedures as needed/as skills allow
Accurately position and restrain for radiology and ultrasound
Discharge patients and relay doctor recommendations
Executing all tasks with the safety and welfare of the patient, client and staff in mind
Ensuring a clean, welcoming and positive environment for clients and patients
Qualities we are seeking:
3+ years of experience in the field as a veterinary technician or commensurate licensure
Experience with anesthetic procedures highly desired
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Accountability and integrity
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with team members
Polished communication and interpersonal skills
Capacity for performing and communicating during high-stress situations
Aptitude in building trust and rapport with clients
Vaccine, nutrition, pharmacology and preventative care knowledge
Experience with Cornerstone and/or Idexx lab equipment a plus, but not required
Basic computer and typing skills
Superior organizational skills
Ability to reliably commute

$18 - $20 per hour
Experience:
Only candidates with previous Veterinary Technician experience will be considered, 3+ years preferred.
