Veterinary Assistant

Are you passionate about animals and love being part of a fast-paced, supportive team? Millcreek Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our busy small animal practice!

Experience in a veterinary clinic is ideal, but if you’ve spent time around animals and are eager to learn, we’re happy to train the right person. This is not a kennel position — we’re looking for someone ready to be hands-on with patient care and help support our medical team throughout the day.

What We’re Looking For:

• Some hands-on experience working with animals (volunteer or paid)
• A dependable, detail-oriented team player with a can-do attitude
• Compassionate and confident when working with both pets and their people
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
• Reliable transportation and punctuality

Schedule:

Full-time, Monday–Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm, with rotating Saturdays from 7:30am to 12:00pm. No Sundays, no evenings!

Daily Duties May Include:

• Nail trims and anal gland expression
• Administering vaccines
• Assisting with radiographs
• Running in-house labwork (fecals, heartworm tests, urinalysis, etc.)
• Administering subcutaneous fluids
• Starting exam rooms and supporting the doctors
• Client education and communication
• Cleaning and prepping surgery packs
• General hospital cleaning and pet laundry
• Proper holding and restraint of patients
