Position Responsibilities

All team members should be prepared to:

  • Provide the highest standard of patient care and client service
  • Educate clients on preventive care and recommended veterinary services
  • Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgical procedures, dental care, and client education
  • Perform initial patient evaluations and communicate findings to the doctor
  • Perform technical procedures (IV catheter placement, blood draws, radiographs, laboratory testing, etc.)
  • Admit, discharge, assess, feed, clean, medicate, and monitor patients
  • Recognize signs of contagious diseases and follow proper protocols
  • Safely handle and restrain animals of all sizes
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and organized hospital
  • Stay up to date on veterinary products, medications, and their uses

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in the veterinary field
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work 36-40 hours per week, including weekends, holidays, and rotating Saturday PM and Sunday shifts
  • Comfortable handling animals of all sizes and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to withstand exposure to odors, animal waste, and noise
  • Dependable, punctual, professional, positive, empathetic, and eager to learn
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including accurate medical documentation
  • Ability to stay calm and focused in emergency situations
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and critical thinking skills
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, and works harmoniously with the team

 

Work Hours

  • Monday – Friday: 6:50 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Rotating Saturday PM and Sunday Shifts Required
