Veterinary Assistant

Suffern Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team who has a positive attitude, passion for animals, willingness to grow, learn, and develop their skills. This is a Part-time position with a flexible schedule.  

Our Assistants are an important part of our pet care team, providing excellent care to our patients as well as providing outstanding customer service to our clients. This position is a great opportunity for an assistant with at least 2 years’ experience working in a veterinary hospital.

Skills we are looking for are: 

• Greeting patients/clients 

• Experience running in house lab equipment 

• Preparing labs to be sent out 

• Assisting veterinarian & technicians in rooms, radiology, treatment, ultrasound 

• Proper holding technique for patients in exams rooms or when assisting  

• Taking patient histories 

• Pharmacy duties 

• Handling medical records  

• Daily cleaning
