What You’ll Do:
- Handle patients using Cat Friendly techniques, including those who may be nervous or difficult.
- Perform all standard veterinary technician tasks:
- Phlebotomy
- Rooming patients and assisting doctors
- Surgical monitoring
- Dental cleanings and radiography
- Supervise and support veterinary technicians and assistants in their daily work.
- Train team members as needed and help maintain high standards of patient care.
- Triage urgent cases and lead the team during emergencies.
- Work with hospital leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA, DEA, and all state and federal regulations.
- Report any regulatory concerns to the Hospital Manager or Chief of Staff.
- Manage and maintain knowledge of inventory, including prescription diets and feline medications.
- Educate clients and staff on prescription use and available products.
- Assist the Hospital Manager with creating team schedules and arranging shift coverage as needed.
- Help foster a supportive, positive team culture — even on the tough days.
The lead veterinary technician partners closely with our Chief of Staff and Hospital Manager, working together to support our team and ensure exceptional patient care.
