Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and surgical areas - Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Help with dental cleanings and procedures
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary team members
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common diseases
- Proficiency in administering medications and treatments to animals
- Attention to detail for accurate record keeping and documentation
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
