We are a small, busy general practice clinic and see dogs, cats, pocket pets, exotics, and anything else that will fit through our door.  We are looking to add a hybrid veterinary assistant/ veterinary receptionist superstar to our team!

We are more than a group of compassionate veterinary professionals; we are a supportive team that believe in a 'better together' philosophy and strive to cross-train and educate our staff so that we can all find a growth path. This job features four ten-hour shifts, split between working reception or on the treatment floor. Pay for this position ranges from $18 - $22 an hour dependent on experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing multiple phone lines
  • Booking appointments
  • Greeting clients and checking them in
  • Processing payments
  • Ensuring that the reception area is clean and comfortable for clients
  • Using various practice information management software
  • Update and maintain clinical records
  • Collect diagnostic samples using venipuncture, free catch, etc
  • Administer vaccines and other medication as prescribed by DVM via oral, injectable, or topical routes
  • Assist with preparing and dispensing medication
  • Restrain animals as needed
  • Thorough cleaning of treatment area, cages, exam rooms, etc.
  • Restock as needed
  • Assist with euthanasia
  • Assist with dental or surgical procedures as needed
  • Maintain, clean and sterilize instruments and packs
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by DVM or Hospital Manager
