We are a team-oriented, AAHA accredited 3 doctor practice looking for a Veterinary Surgical Technician to add to our fantastic team. Candidate Requirements:

  • Outgoing personality, with strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pound animal and sit on floor/kneel during restraint
  • Professional demeanor

 

Duties include:

  • Venipuncture (placing IV catheters, and collecting samples for labwork)
  • Running diagnostic testing in house; preparing samples for reference lab
  • Taking radiographs -- digital full body as well as dental
  • Dental care (cleaning/scaling and polishing teeth)
  • Inducing and monitoring anesthesia
  • Surgical suite maintenance (wrapping surgery packs, sterilizing instruments)
  • Working with specialists (orthopedic, radiologist and cardiologist)
  • Running scheduled technician appointments for vaccinations, nail trims, anal gland expressions, blood draws
  • Client communication: making call to clients for updates on patient status, informing clients of normal lab results, explaining treatments and medications to clients
