We are a team-oriented, AAHA accredited 3 doctor practice looking for a Veterinary Surgical Technician to add to our fantastic team. Candidate Requirements:
- Outgoing personality, with strong communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 pound animal and sit on floor/kneel during restraint
- Professional demeanor
Duties include:
- Venipuncture (placing IV catheters, and collecting samples for labwork)
- Running diagnostic testing in house; preparing samples for reference lab
- Taking radiographs -- digital full body as well as dental
- Dental care (cleaning/scaling and polishing teeth)
- Inducing and monitoring anesthesia
- Surgical suite maintenance (wrapping surgery packs, sterilizing instruments)
- Working with specialists (orthopedic, radiologist and cardiologist)
- Running scheduled technician appointments for vaccinations, nail trims, anal gland expressions, blood draws
- Client communication: making call to clients for updates on patient status, informing clients of normal lab results, explaining treatments and medications to clients
