Position Details

Role: Registered Veterinary Technician

Status: Full-Time

Salary: $25.00–$35.00/hr, based on experience, skills, and licensure

Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week; some Saturdays required

Experience: One year of veterinary clinical experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply

Credential: Current California Registered Veterinary Technician license, or eligibility to obtain licensure

What You’ll Do

  • Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
  • Induce anesthesia and monitor patients through anesthesia and recovery
  • Prepare patients for surgery and provide advanced anesthetic support
  • Perform dental prophylaxis and take dental radiographs
  • Take diagnostic digital radiographs
  • Run in-house IDEXX laboratory diagnostics
  • Calculate and administer medications accurately
  • Provide treatments, monitoring, and nursing care for hospitalized patients
  • Assess patients and support veterinarians with ongoing care plans
  • Educate clients on their pets’ care with clear, compassionate communication

Responsibilities may vary based on hospital needs as well as your experience, training, certifications, credentials, and assigned responsibilities.

What You’ll Bring

  • Current California Registered Veterinary Technician license, or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • One year of veterinary clinical experience preferred; motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong technical skills in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia, dentistry, and radiography
  • Accuracy with medication calculations and administration
  • Excellent client communication and education skills
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to teamwork
  • Availability to work some Saturdays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift [Weight] lbs with assistance
