Role: Veterinary Technician
Status: Full-time
Salary: $18 - $20 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts a week with one Saturday shift a month

We’re looking for a compassionate, dependable Veterinary Technician to join our team! In this role, you’ll work alongside our veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide high-quality patient care while helping keep the hospital running smoothly.
From supporting appointments and treatments to assisting with diagnostics, surgery, and client education, you’ll play an important part in nearly every aspect of the patient experience. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable jumping in where needed, communicates well, and genuinely enjoys being part of a collaborative veterinary team.

What Our Veterinary Technicians Do
- Assist with patient care, handling, restraint, monitoring, and comfort
- Obtain patient histories and other relevant patient information
- Collect samples and assist with treatments and procedures within your assigned responsibilities
- Prepare, clean, and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, equipment, and supplies
- Support diagnostic procedures, laboratory testing, and radiology
- Assist with anesthesia, surgery, patient positioning, monitoring, and recovery as assigned
- Administer non-controlled medications, supplements, and treatments as directed and permitted
- Monitor patient well-being and promptly communicate observations or concerns to veterinarians and veterinary technicians
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Educate clients about patient care, medications, preventive care, treatment plans, and hospital recommendations as directed
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members in person and through approved phone, text, email, and electronic communication systems
- Assist with client questions and concerns and escalate issues when appropriate
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment
- Follow hospital policies, OSHA requirements, safety protocols, and infection prevention and control practices
- Use veterinary medical equipment, computers, mobile devices, and other technology needed to support patient care and hospital operations
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and professional team environment

- The ability to safely handle and care for animals of varying sizes, weights, and temperaments
- Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and patient care skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced veterinary environment while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety

- The ability to follow hospital policies, procedures, and assigned responsibilities
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations, accurate measurements, numerical information, and recordkeeping
- Comfort learning and using technology, including AI-enabled tools, to support patient care, communication, workflow efficiency, and accurate medical documentation
- The physical ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the workday and perform tasks that may require bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing, and repetitive motion
- The ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently and assist with heavier loads when needed
- The ability to safely restrain, lift, position, and move veterinary patients
