Position Details

Role: Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) 
Status: Full-Time
Salary: $28–$34 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Flexible four-day week with rotating Saturdays; no nights, no on-call shifts, and no holidays
Requirements: Must be able to perform dentals and dental extractions proficiently and have strong hands-on veterinary technical skills

We’re a well-established, four-doctor general practice with a skilled technician team and a supportive, collaborative culture. Our case mix includes wellness care, surgery, and dentistry, and we work closely with local specialists to provide internal medicine and orthopedic care on site. That means our technicians have opportunities to work with interesting cases while using the technical skills they’ve worked hard to develop.

What Our Veterinary Technicians (RVT) Do

As a Veterinary Technician at Santa Fe Animal Clinic, you’ll have the opportunity to put your experience to work across a variety of cases and responsibilities, including:

• Provide skilled, hands-on nursing care and patient support
• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Perform dental procedures and dental extractions proficiently
• Support surgical procedures and patient preparation
• Assist with anesthesia and patient monitoring
• Provide attentive pre- and post-operative nursing care
• Apply your technical skills across wellness, surgical, dental, and specialty-supported cases
• Collaborate with doctors and fellow technicians to provide high-quality patient care
• Share your knowledge and help mentor less-experienced team members
• Communicate effectively with teammates while working with a variety of personalities
• Contribute to a positive, respectful, and efficient hospital environment

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who is confident in their technical abilities while still excited to learn, collaborate, and grow. Our ideal candidate brings:

• Registered Veterinary Technician credentials or substantial veterinary technician experience
• Proficiency performing dentals and dental extractions
• 3–5 years of clinical veterinary experience preferred
• Strong hands-on patient care and nursing skills
• Experience supporting surgery and anesthesia
• Confidence working independently within your training and responsibilitiesNearby restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores 
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to collaborate respectfully with different personalities and working styles
• Interest in mentoring and supporting less-experienced teammates
• A commitment to high-quality veterinary medicine
• A sense of humor and a willingness to enjoy the occasional fur, slobber, and wagging-tail chaos
