What our Veterinary Technicians Do
- Assist veterinarians with patient exams, treatments, and procedures
- Obtain thorough patient histories, vital signs, and patient assessments
- Safely handle and restrain patients while prioritizing comfort and compassionate care
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and diagnostic sample collection
- Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Assist with diagnostic testing and laboratory procedures
- Obtain high-quality radiographs and support diagnostic imaging
- Assist with surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, patient recovery, and postoperative care
- Monitor patients and communicate changes in condition to the medical team
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and treatment documentation
- Educate clients about medications, preventive care, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Anticipate the needs of veterinarians and teammates to promote an efficient daily workflow
- Maintain clean, organized, stocked, and patient-ready treatment and exam areas
- Share your knowledge and experience while supporting the growth of your teammates
- Jump in wherever needed to help patients, clients, and coworkers
What You'll Bring
- Previous Veterinary Technician experience
- Veterinary Technician licensure is welcomed
- Strong patient handling and restraint skills
- Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and laboratory procedures
- Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, patient recovery, and surgical support
- Comfort assisting with diagnostic imaging and radiographs
- Strong understanding of patient care and medication administration
- Excellent client communication and education skills
- Accurate and thorough medical documentation skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- A positive, dependable, and professional approach
- Compassion and empathy for patients, clients, coworkers, and yourself
