Position Details
Role: Experienced Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)
Status: Full-time
Salary: Negotiable and based on experience and licensure
Schedule: Full-time schedule with occasional kennel shifts required
Experience: Veterinary technician credentials preferred or a minimum of three years of veterinary assistant experience. Fluency and/or experience with exotics is preferred.

What You’ll Do
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures.
- Prepare patients and equipment for surgical and dental procedures.
- Monitor anesthesia, vital signs, and surgical patients throughout procedures and recovery.
- Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples.
- Assist with laboratory testing, radiographs, treatments, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Provide compassionate nursing care and attentive patient monitoring.
- Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
- Educate clients about treatments, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document care thoroughly.
- Keep treatment, surgical, and examination areas clean, stocked, and organized.
- Assist with occasional kennel-care responsibilities as needed.
- Collaborate with doctors and teammates to maintain an efficient workflow and deliver outstanding patient care.
What You’ll Bring
- Current Veterinary Technician credentials are preferred, or a minimum of three years of veterinary assistant experience.
- Experience assisting with surgical procedures and monitoring anesthesia.
- Proficiency with venipuncture and diagnostic sample collection.
- Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Confidence handling patients safely and compassionately.
- The ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities in a busy hospital.
- A passion for continued learning and professional growth.
- A positive attitude and commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
- Exotic animal experience is a plus.
- Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.
- Flexibility to assist with occasional kennel shifts.
