What Our Veterinary Assistants Do

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Safely handle and restrain patients while prioritizing their comfort and well-being
• Monitor patients and communicate changes or concerns to the medical team
• Prepare examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment
• Collect samples and support laboratory and diagnostic testing
• Assist with pharmacy duties and medication preparation as directed
• Help maintain accurate and complete patient medical records
• Support patient care before, during, and after procedures
• Clean, organize, and restock hospital work areas
• Communicate compassionately and professionally with clients
• Reinforce veterinarian-approved education about medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and home-care instructions
• Support teammates and contribute to an efficient daily hospital workflow
