Role: Veterinary Assistant
Status: Full-time
Salary: Competitive and based on experience
Schedule: 4-day work weeks with rotating 4-hour Saturday shifts. No nights, weekends, or holidays!
Locations: Elk Creek Animal Hospital of Fisherville and its Mt. Washington satellite location

Elk Creek Animal Hospital is looking for compassionate, dependable Veterinary Assistants to join our well-established team. Opportunities are available at our Fisherville hospital and our Mt. Washington satellite location. Team members will be hired for and primarily work at their assigned location; this is not a floating position between the two hospitals.

What Our Veterinary Assistants Do
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments, treatments, and procedures
- Safely handle and restrain patients using compassionate techniques
- Obtain patient histories and record vital signs
- Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment for patient care
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples as directed
- Assist with in-house laboratory testing and diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under the direction of the veterinary team
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked exam and treatment areas
- Accurately document patient care and client communication
- Educate and support clients regarding basic care instructions and hospital services
- Work closely with doctors, technicians, assistants, and receptionists to keep the hospital running smoothly
