Position Details
Role: Experienced Veterinary Assistant
Status: Full-time or Part-time
Salary: $17.13–$20.00/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Four- or five-day work week (36–40 hours/week), including one Saturday per month. No nights, on-call shifts, or holiday hours.

Pet Medical Center of Pasco is growing again! We've recently welcomed our eighth veterinarian, and our surgery and dentistry schedules are busier than ever.

What Our Veterinary Assistants Do
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures
- Obtain patient histories, assist with patient handling, and provide compassionate nursing care
- Perform venipuncture, radiographs, laboratory sample collection, and in-house diagnostics
- Assist with surgical preparation, anesthesia support, and patient recovery
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Educate clients regarding medications, preventive care, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
- Work with a wide variety of patients, including companion animals, birds, reptiles, and other exotic species
- Collaborate with teammates to provide exceptional patient care every day
What Our Veterinary Assistants Bring
- One to two years of veterinary assistant experience preferred
- Willingness to obtain and maintain a Washington Medication Clerk License (training provided)
- Confidence with patient handling, venipuncture, radiographs, and surgical assistance, or a strong desire to continue developing those skills
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Compassion for patients, clients, and teammates
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain active throughout the day
- Team-first mindset with a commitment to continuous learning
