  • Role: Experienced Veterinary Assistant
  • Status: Full-time
  • Salary: $17 per hour
  • Schedule: 20-25 hours/week. Saturdays required.

We’re an AAHA-accredited hospital and the first Fear Free Certified veterinary practice in New Jersey, which means we hold ourselves to high standards while creating a safer, more comfortable experience for our patients.

What You’ll Do

  • Safely and effectively handle and restrain patients
  • Support veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and procedures
  • Assist with preventative care and vaccine appointments
  • Obtain radiographs and support diagnostic imaging
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect diagnostic samples
  • Complete in-house laboratory testing
  • Monitor patients and communicate changes in condition to the medical team
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and coworkers
  • Educate clients and help them understand their pets’ care
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document client interactions clearly
  • Support Fear Free handling practices throughout the hospital
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming hospital environment

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous veterinary assistant experience
  • Strong patient handling and restraint skills
  • Knowledge of preventative care and vaccines
  • Experience with radiographs, phlebotomy, and sample collection
  • Knowledge of in-house laboratory procedures
  • Critical thinking, curiosity, and a can-do attitude
  • Reliability and professionalism in a fast-paced environment
