Salary: $28–$32 per hour
Schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts; weekends off

University Place Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our fantastic team. At UPVH, we take work-life balance and personal well-being seriously, and our schedule reflects our belief in the importance of self-care.

Our typical day is intentionally structured to support both excellent medicine and a healthier team experience. We schedule 30-minute appointments, each doctor has an assigned skilled assistant and/or technician for the day, and our phones are turned off while the doors are locked so the entire team can enjoy lunch onsite or offsite. We also build in additional catch-up time before appointments resume, making it normal to leave on time at the end of the day.

What You’ll Do

• Provide safe and effective patient handling and restraint
• Support preventative care and vaccine appointments
• Assist with attentive induction, monitoring, and recovery of surgical patients
• Support emergency and surgical care, including IV catheter placement and intubation
• Obtain diagnostics, including radiographs, phlebotomy, sample collection, and in-house lab work
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and staff
• Maintain succinct documentation of patient records and client interactions
• Collaborate with doctors, assistants, and fellow technicians to support excellent workflow and patient care
