  • Schedule: 7:15-6:00pm various weekdays, and weekends (8am-2pm) required

Stonebridge Veterinary Hospital is a leading veterinary facility dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality care to our companions. Serving the Lake Ray Hubbard communities since 2008, our dedicated team of experienced veterinarians and support staff are committed to promoting the health and well-being of pets while fostering strong relationships with their owners. We offer a wide range of services including preventative care, diagnostics (including radiology, ultrasounds, and in-house lab work), surgery and dentistry for dogs and cats in a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced medical equipment.

 

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Veterinary Technician at Stonebridge Veterinary Hospital, you will play a vital role in assisting our veterinarians with medical procedures, administering treatments, providing nursing care, and educating clients on proper pet care practices.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians with physical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and surgeries.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
  • Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal analysis.
  • Take and develop radiographs as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients including monitoring vital signs, administering fluids, and maintaining medical records.
  • Educate clients on topics such as preventative care, nutrition, and medication administration.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, exam rooms, and surgical suites.
  • Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely during examinations and procedures.
  • Assist with client communications, appointments, and discharge instructions.

 

Qualifications:

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in basic veterinary medical procedures and terminology.
  • Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both clients and team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
